Introduction
Jaybro is excited to announce our partnership with the Clontarf Foundation, demonstrating our dedication to empowering local communities and guiding young minds. Through this collaboration, we've fostered relationships with the 5 Academies at Chifley College within the Blacktown LGA.
Active Engagement and Development Opportunities
Our staff actively engage in various activities, including attending morning training sessions at schools, participating in super training sessions, and hosting students during immersion days. We believe in providing learning and development opportunities, offering full-time and school-based traineeships through the Clontarf Way program, enriching both parties involved.
Recent Highlights and Employee Involvement
Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting Clontarf students for a school immersion day, showcasing the myriad of opportunities available within the Jaybro Group. Moreover, we proudly welcomed our first Clontarf graduate as a Trainee, further solidifying our commitment to nurturing talent through partnerships like MIGAS Traineeships and Apprentices.
March Involvement and Community Engagement
In March, select employees immersed themselves in the Clontarf experience by attending morning training sessions at local schools. They also participated in the annual Sydney super training day, immersing themselves in Australia's largest Clontarf super training alongside approximately 300 boys, staff, and partners. It was a day filled with sports, BBQ lunches, and meaningful conversations with the boys and foundation members, reinforcing our shared values of community and mentorship.
Our partnership with Clontarf Foundation exemplifies our commitment to empowering youth and strengthening communities, providing invaluable opportunities for growth and mentorship.
Team Jaybro
So who is the Clontarf Foundation? Clontarf helps young men to attend school, finish Year 12 and enter employment.
Using supportive relationships, a welcoming environment and a diverse range of activities, the young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men in our programme develop improved self-esteem and confidence which assists them to participate in education, employment and society in a positive way.
Since opening its first Academy for 25 boys in 2000 the Foundation has grown to cater for over 11,500 boys in 158 schools across Western Australia, Northern Territory, South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
The Clontarf Foundation uses a unique, innovative and highly successful approach to target one of the most at risk groups in contemporary Australian society – young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men.The Foundation partners with schools and communities to create ‘Clontarf academies’ which are embedded within the school grounds and education programme.Academy activities are planned within the focus areas of education, leadership, employment, well-being, life skills and sport. In order to remain in the programme, participants must continue to work at school and embrace the objectives of the Foundation.
The Foundation’s approach has been very successful, not only in attracting young men to school and retaining them but also in having them embrace more disciplined, purposeful and healthy lifestyles.
